Lockerby Composite School Reopening Update (2021)

Hello Viking Community!

The 2021 – 2022 school year is just around the corner, and despite the uniqueness of another COVID-19 school year, we are certainly looking forward to connecting with everyone again.  A few important messages…

To Vikings Parents/Guardians – Over the past week, Rainbow District School Board had asked parents to complete a survey regarding options for their student’s schooling for Semester 1 of this school year (in-person learning or remote learning).  We are aware that some parents/guardians may not have had an opportunity to complete this survey, and thus, we are re-sharing it at the link below.  If you have not yet filled-out that survey, we are asking that you please complete it (one for each of your student(s) attending Lockerby Composite School by Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 by midnight.  Please note that schooling options cannot be re-evaluated until the end of the semester (February 2022).

If you have already completed Rainbow District School Board’s survey – thank you!  You do not have to complete this one.

Lockerby Composite School Learning Options Survey (Semester 1)

To our newest Vikings – Please note that our Grade 9 Orientation Day is still being planned for Tuesday, August 31st, 2021, beginning at 10:00am.  Since the unveiling of Rainbow District School Board’s Reopening Guide, we are working to put together a plan to ensure that all of our new Grade 9s become acquainted with our school and feel as comfortable as they can before the first day of classes on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021.  As reopening details continue to be fluid, please be advised that information will be forthcoming towards the end of the week of August 23rd, 2021.  Please stay tuned.

To all of our returning Vikings – Likewise, please stay tuned for more information over the next couple of weeks about the upcoming school year.  Our school will be reopening on Monday, August 23rd, 2021, and we will be connecting with you by way of email, our website, and our social media pages – so be sure to stay connected.
